Event: Opening ceremony of the Confucius Classroom at PCC Het Lyceum in Alkmaar, which is the 10th Confucius Classroom of Groningen Confucius Institute in The Netherlands. Chinese Ambassador to The Netherlands Wu Ken will attend the opening ceremony and unveil the plaque of this Confucius Classroom.

More information: Petrus Canisius College is a comprehensive school (public high school AE) offering education at all levels: from gymnasium to vmbo. Moreover, PCC offers a number of special educational programmes like ‘Vakcollege’(vocational college), sports classes, the Anglia and Cambridge international ESOL exams and preuniversity education-plus (vwo-Xtra). Petrus Canisius College is an officially accredited Academic Training Centre, affiliated to the Academic Training Centres North-Holland-West, and has its own training and research centre. This means that PCC trains teachers in cooperation with Amsterdam Universities and colleges. Since 2008 the subjects of ‘Knowledge of China’ and the Chinese language have been offered to all first grade pupils and as an optional subject to grades 2 and 3 of Vwo-Xtra.
