Invitation – GCI Chinese New Year 2021 Online Celebration

2020 has been a very challenging year for everyone, but we got through it together! We stayed connected, cared for each other and learned many lessons from this past year. The first day of the Chinese New Year 2021 is 12 February 2021, which marks the beginning of the Year of the Ox according to the Chinese zodiac. The Ox, the second of a 12-year cycle of animals in Chinese astrology, denotes diligence, strength, dependability and determination, qualities which may manifest themselves in all of us in the coming 12 months.

Even though we cannot meet each other physically due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Groningen Confucius Institute (GCI) cordially invites you to attend our online celebration of Chinese New Year 2021. We believe it would be a wonderful opportunity for us to reunite, albeit digitally, and have fun!

The online event will take place from 18:30 to 20:30 on Friday, 12 February 2021 via the Zoom platform. The evening online programme will feature student presentations, a pub quiz and a lucky draw. You will get the chance to win prizes by participating in the pub quiz! For registrants who are currently living/staying in the Netherlands, we have also prepared a surprise gift for you! You will find a lucky number in this surprise gift, which you can use to join the lucky draw and boost your chance of winning. Interested?! (Sorry, we have no more surprise gifts left.
