Invitation to Chinese Festival 2019

Groningen Confucius Institute (GCI) will organize the annual Chinese Festival from 11:30 to 16:00 on Saturday 21 September 2019 in the atmospheric Chinese Garden of the Hortus botanicus Haren.

You are cordially invited to join us at the festival, where you can not only enjoy various Chinese cultural performances such as lion dance, dragon dance and Chinese instrument performance, but also experience Chinese language and culture through a series of workshops, for instance, making Chinese characters for children, Chinese Kung fu, and face mask painting.

Visitors pay the normal entrance fee of the Hortus Haren, and participation in the Chinese festival is free.

We have limited spots for the workshops, so registration for the workshops is required. Please click REGISTER to save a seat.

Registration deadline: 19 September 2019. First come, First served.

Registration for workshops closed. If you missed the deadline, you can still sign up for the waiting list until 18:00 Friday 20 September. We can make the arrangment for you according to the remaining seats on the event day. Two performance sections don't require registration.
