GCI held Making Chinese Characters Workshop

On Saturday, 14th October, Groningen Confucius Institute organized the Making Chinese Characters workshop for children as a part of the grand event Zpannend Zernike 2017. With the participation of more than 200 families, the workshop lasted for 5 hours from 12:00 to 17:00 in a very heated and enthusiastic atmosphere.

The Making Chinese Characters workshop consists of a series of fun sub-workshops, where children could experience making characters by calligraphy, papercutting, lego building, puzzle making, characters stroke piecing, Chinese gymnastics as well as Chinese name design and writing, organized by GCI teachers and student volunteers from Communication University of China. All the workshops were well attended by children with enthusiasm and curiosity, who showed great interest in Chinese characters and enjoyed a wonderful day with their parents.
